Meditation Made Easier: A Guide for Busy People with Busy Minds

Much has been said about the many benefits of meditation. But when I talk with my patients about it they all say the same things. “It’s too hard”. “I can’t focus”. “My mind is too busy”. “I’m too busy”. “I’m just not good at it”.

So I began focusing on how to deal with the obstacles that get in the way of getting the goods. Because after all, meditation itself is extremely simple.

One of the keys is to gradually shift your state and your perspective in a lasting and fulfilling way.

This presentation will address:
– The benefits and “goal” of meditation and why it’s such an important part of our daily life, especially today.
– Meditation’s powerful impact on not just your mental health, but your physical health as well.
– Meditation’s contribution to enhancing your intuitive inner guidance, which is a key to making reliable, grounded, and wise decisions. From what you choose to eat to who you choose to spend the rest of your life with.
– The power of presence and living in the natural flow of the moment with greater acceptance and with less judgement and expectation.
– Flow = Ease, Ease = Health
– Tools to gain greater focus and be more effective with your time, energy, and even your money.

I believe that the more happy, present people there are in this world the better life is for everyone. You don’t have to look very hard to find people who are over-stressed, over-reactive and deeply suffering. And most of it is so unnecessary.

My personal mission is to help people free themselves from unnecessary suffering.

BIOGRAPHY

Tyme Noor Gigliotti, D.Ac., L.Ac.
Doctor of Acupuncture
Licensed Acupuncturist
Certified Chinese Herbalist

I’m an unquenchable learner, in awe of the majestic elegance of Nature, it’s cycles, and the human body. For as long as I can remember I’ve been fascinated by their secrets and how Life works.

Searching for relief from my own neck pain and insomnia, I discovered profound physical and mental level healing in acupuncture with the late Sifu Kenny Gong in New York City. Amazed at the results, I joined the next class at the Traditional Acupuncture Institute in Columbia, MD in May of 1994. Since then my passion has been helping others experience the same freedom from physical and emotional pain that I did, as well as reclaim their own health and wellbeing. I’ve been practicing Acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine in Linthicum since the spring of 1998, and also in Annapolis since 2018. I specialize in sports acupuncture and orthopedics, pain management and, with my colleague and business partner Dr. Daniel Schrier, our own high-quality topical Chinese Herbal liniments–7 Stars Medicinals.

From 1999 until its closing in December of 2025 I was an Assistant Professor and Lead Teaching Clinic Supervisor at Maryland University of Integrative Health (MUIH). Since 2010 I’ve been teaching professional workshops to fellow acupuncturists.

Through the daily meditation and spiritual practices I learned from my beloved Guide, a Sufi Master named Sidi Muhammad Sa’id al-Jamal ar-Rifai ash-Shadhuli, may his soul rest in peace, I have been blessed to experience a little bit of the World behind the world, the World of Unity and Becoming, of Majesty and Love. I’ve resisted sharing what I’ve learned with others. But since turning 60 I now feel compelled. I “took hand” with Sidi Muhammad back in 2000. As is the custom, he gave me the Sufi name Noor, which is Arabic for Light and is one of the 99 Qualities of God in Sufism.

One of my favorite things is spending time at the beach and being on the water. And I can’t get enough of traveling with Khadijah, my wife of 25 years. We both adore exploring new places and savoring new and unusual cuisine.

Be well!
